    Hi,

VSMON is a program that can eat up to 100% of the CPU time (on occasion), and can be VERY annoying to the user.

Thankfully, there is a simple way to stop it doing that.

    1. Open CONTROL PANEL
    2.Open ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS
    3. Open SERVICES
    4. Find the TRUEVECTOR INTERNET MONITOR
    5. Right click on it and select PROPERTIES
    6. In the STARTUP TYPE drop down select MANUAL.

    Restart your computer.

    Hi,

PLEASE complete this off line, disconnected from the Internet, if still having problems, try it in Safe Mode?

PLEASE keep me posted on this, Thanks.

I am quite experienced but I have never started my computer in safe mode before simply because I have never needed to however I did know but I have forgotten but I do believe it is an "F" key at bootup can you please tell what key this is as the truevector service will not allow me to set it as manual :-(

F8 during boot. Changing TrueVector Startup type to "manual" in Safe Mode (at least for the free version) works.

    Hi,

When booting up your computer, start tapping F8, should take you to the DOS (Black Screen), scroll down until you see Safe Mode, click on that, and you should be good to go in that mode.

PLEASE keep me posted on your results, Thanks.

I just noticed this thread after I posted to the one above. I see that you got True Vector Service changed to manual by doing it in the Safe Mode when True Vector is not running. You do know that as long as True Vector is shutdown, your firewall will not work don't you? If that was your goal, you could simply right click on the Zone Alarm icon in your system tray and select 'Shutdown Zone Alarm'.

Thankyou very much for your advice I have set the truevector service back to automatic however when I made it manual zonelabs still ran automatically at startup like it always doesB-) But after you said it stops Trogans from disableling my firewall I naturally became very concerned, so I decided to make the Truevector service automatic. Please tell me could have things got serious if I left it at manual??? :0
