Default ZA Pro and ZA Anti-Virus will not co-exist

I did not need all of the features in the ZA Internet Security Sweet so I purchased the ZA Pro thinking it had an anti-virus feature.
Once I realized my mistake I also purchased the ZA Anti-Virus program.
I found that if I install the Anti-Virus program and then the Pro program the
Pro program removes the Anti-Virus program and vice-versa.
I quote from the description provided by ZoneLabs about the Pro package...
"Add powerful, multi-layered security to your current antivirus for more protection."
Ok...ZA Anti-Virus is now my current antivirus program.
Why can't I install the Pro package without it removing the ZA Anti-Virus program.
    Please help !!

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Antivirus
    Software Version:5.x

The reason you are experiencing that problem is because ZA Pro and ZA Anti-virus products both contain firewalls so the best way to get all features to coexist would be to upgrade to the Suite and disable any features that you do not want to use.

    Hi

It is a csae of using ZA Pro OR the ZA AntiVirus version. The two cannot be used together, only individually. So it is either one or the other. Reason being is each one has the ZA firewall and is considered a complete package. They are not modules that are stackable.

Contact Customer Support and inform them of this mistake.

You may get a refund for the ZA AV and just use the ZA Pro with a third party antivirus (free or paid versions). If the refund time has not expired. This maybe your first choice.

You could get the two converted into the ZA SS. Customer support has the authority about this, not us ZA users.

    FREE Antivitus:

    Antivirus from provider
AOL AVS (uncheck the AOL toolbar during the install)
    AntiVir from free-av.com
    Avast
    AVG

    PAID AntiVirus

    Any of the big names
    NOD32
    KAV6
    AntiVir
    AVAST
    AVG

A great site for comparisions is found at the Comparision section at

    http://www.av-comparatives.org/

    and at

    Take care.

    Thank you for your response.
I will try to return the items to ZoneLabs for a refund and then purchase the entire ZA suite.

If ZoneLabs is unwilling to do the refund / exchange I think a letter to Consumer Reports is called for since ZA was a product they recently reviewed, rated
    and recommended.

    Thank you for your response.
Currently use AVG and retail Norton (two different computers) and chose ZA due to a recent report from Consumer Reports and my experience with AVG and Norton letting trojan's, etc. get by.
I plan on speaking with customer support but wanted to first find out from the experts here if it was something I was overlooking first.
    again, tks.

    Hi sounds good!

A great antitrojan is the Ewido from ewido.net or now known as the AVG antispy. Asquared from emsisoft.com. Both are available as freeware- in that case they are manually updated and just manual scanners, with no real time protection.
