    Default Running Slow After Updates

A couple of days ago I got a message (seemingly from Zone Labs) that updates were ready.
    I installed them.
Now, Outlook Express is taking much longer to load up (maybe 5 - 10 times as long) and runs slower after it has loaded.
Internet Explorer is also running slow (maybe 3 - 5 times slower).
    Were these updates legitimate?
    There were 6 of them.
    They required me to
completely shut down my machine (and not just restart), which seemed unusual to me.
When I clicked on Shut Down, the updates began downloading.
My machine didn't shut down until the 6 items had downloaded.
    Thanks for your input.

It happened to my mother also. I was there and ZA was working, I did the windows update, and then ZA started having problems. Are you comfortable with cleaning your machine? And how it works? If so try the beta, it is stable and the problem is resolved.
