Default Zone Alarm - Firefox - Downloading

    Hi People,

This is my first post and this is my current version.

    ZoneAlarm Pro version:6.5.737.000
    TrueVector version:6.5.737.000
    Driver version:6.5.737.000

When I download a video or any file in Firefox 2.0.0.1 my PC cpu usage shoots up to 100% until the file is finished downloading. If the file is a graphic it is pretty quick to download or if it's a 50 meg video file it takes about a minute maybe.

During the download EVERYTHING on my PC is VERY slow. I can not watch a video or browse pictures or open a new folder etc.

If I shut down ZoneAlarm everything works fine.

This was not a problem with Firefox 1.5 (I don't think) but then again it might not have to do with Firefox at all. When I am downloading with IE6 things are slightly better but still very slow.

I set the settings likebelow as someone on here suggested but NO difference.

    Firefox:

    trusted access - checkmark
    internet access - checkmark
    trusted server - ?
    internet server - ? or X

Some people will need generic host (svchost.exe) set this way:
    trusted access - checkmark
    internet access - checkmark
trusted server - checkmark or ? (some people have connectivity problem with a ?, others don't)
    internet server - ? or X

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

    Thanks.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro
    Software Version:6.5

    Ok,

I took the additional step of rebooting in safemode and deleting iamdb.rdb and backup.rdb.. Still 100% CPU useage while downloading. Interestingly, when ZoneAlarm is turned off the CPU is still at 100% (according to task manager) but movies play fine, I can scroll through pictures, open file manager - basically use my PC as always. If ZoneAlarmPro IS on everything is jerky, frozen or does not work at all until the download is finished.

    Any suggestions? Gurus?

    Thanks

    OK,
It's TrueVector that is **bleep**ing up the resources when I download. Can TrueVector be disabled? My PC is a P3800 with a Gig of ram. Is ZAP just too powerful for my PC? I was hoping to get more than 0 replies in 24 hours, lol.

Is it all downloads or only when you are streaming content into the browser?
