Default Uploading to YouTube - CPU Usage

I am having problems uploading files to YouTube with
    Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite
    installed (version 7.0.337.000).
As the file upload progresses, the vsmon.exe process gradually increases its CPU usage until it reaches 100% and locks up the PC.
This happens after about 30MB of the file has uploaded.
If I temporarily shutdown Zone Alarm, the file uploads successfully.
I have tried a complete uninstall and clean reinstall of
    Zone Alarm
but this did not solve the problem.
Is there a fix for this?
I've search the forum and found other users with the same problem, but no solution.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Software Version:7.0

Hi BristolBigAl and welcome to the forum!

Make sure a few things are done to make the uploads work properly.

The browser has been given server rights for the Internet and Trusted Zones.
The server rights should be removed after the uploads are completed, since allowing server rights always opens ports in the firewall. Open ports is not so safe as compared to the usual closed ports.

The site and related sites have all of the Mobile Code to allow all in the Privacy of the ZA.

The correct configuarations are used for the ZA:

    1. Go to Run type in command, hit OK, and type ipconfig /all then press enter. In the returned data list will be a line DNS and DHCP Servers with the IP address(s) listed out to the side
    2. In ZA on your machine on the Firewall>Zones tab click Add and then select IP Address. Make sure the Zone is set to Trusted
    3. Click OK and then Apply for each one.
    4. The loopback must be listed as Trusted. It has the address of
5 The Generic Host Process or the svchost.exe listed in the Program list must have both Trusted and Internet access and it must have server rights for the Trusted Zone, but not the Internet Zone.

You go further and right click the browser (being used for the uploads) in the ZA Program listing. Then open the Options and check the first two items. This will alos give the browser some more privileges.

    Best regards.

Hi, I had the same problem with rapidshare: here is a cut/paste from my answer in another thread:

    Hi all

I have found the problem, finally!!!
Nothing to do with ZA or antivirus!

I have "Internet Download Manager" installed. I activated the monitoring for the internet browser (each time a potential download link is clicked, it invokes the download manager.
When uploading to sites such as rapidshare, you have to deactivate that monitoring function: at least with the latest version of Internet Download Manager...

    It works perfectly now!
