Default Permissions needed to kill vsmon.exe

What permissions do I need to give a program in order to make it able to kill the vsmon.exe process? I have had a few system instability lockups after vsmon has crashed but failed to close. I would like to be able to actually close it next time. Anyone here know? I haven't found anything in Google yet myself.
I am running Windows XP SP2 with ZAP 7.0.337.0.
It is actually in the crashed state right now. I plan on downgrading to 65.737.0 after I
    restart
since a lot of people here
seem to be doing it.I expect that vsmon will fail to close even for shutdown, freezing the system in the "shutting down" state and
forcing me to manually power off.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro
    Software Version:7.0

Hi!you can't kill vsmon... for security reasons, its the main ZA driver.Try a database reset to fix problem with vsmon...See here how to reset your database:http://www2.nohold.net/noHoldCust542...rruptlogs.htmlCheers,Fax

All my ZoneAlarm settings were lost a while back to a power outage so I don't think that's the problem. (It wasn't before the other crashes.)

I remember reading an article somewhere in which somebody killed vsmon by reading its permissions to determine the username needed to kill it and opening task manager with "run as". I think they used a special program to see the permissions.
Sadly, I am unable to find the article now.
