When I try to scan using my HP F380 All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner I get a "Communications Error" message.
After extensive email and telephone exchangeswith HP, which have failed to resolve the problem, suspicion has fallen on the Zonelabs Firewall/Antivirus software that I run.
However, simply disabling the Zonelabs software has not made any of the suggested cures
made by HP (reload the USB drivers, change the USB cable, reload the printer software etc) work and I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the likelihood of the Zonelabs software being at the root of my troubles and, if so, whether they had any suggestions as to how I might cure them.
I should mention that the printer and copier functions of the hardware work perfectly and that the scanner function used to work.
However, somewhere along way the scanner has ceased to function, although I do not know when since I use it fairly infrequently, so I cannot relate the failure to an upgrade/software change, for example.
