Dear ZA Support Staff and Forum Users
I have two problems, which I wonder if they are related.
 VSMON.EXE / CPU Time
This appears to be a common problem. I have been a Norton user since 1992. I have recently switched over to ZA Internet Suite. I've noticed that the Windows boot up and shut down time to be much longer. It takes an extra minute or two. The other problem is that receiving and sending emails takes much longer, even though both firewall/antivirus programs check incoming / outgoing emails. The main problem however, is that over a period of time, VSMON.EXE starts to require a huge amount of CPU time. In the end, it will such up to 9x% of the cycle. Having disabled email protection, VSMON.EXE eats up less CPU, but it is still way above normal.
 Anti-virus Update Progress Hangs
Due to the above problem, I considered rebooting ZA only. However, it is nor possible to close ZA at all, as it says all dialogue boxes must be closed first. An open dialogue is the "Update Progress" box. It shows that it is installing an anti-virus update, but it does this forever. I have set to check product updates manually, but I still continue to have this problem. It seems impossible to close ZA because of this outstanding processing.
I have used the free ZA on another computer for several years and have been very pleased with it. I decided to give ZA Internet Suite a go, and have been disappointed so far. It seems to slow down my computer a lot. Even system hog Norton is far better in comparison.
