Default ZoneAlarm Security Suite, Vista, and Microsoft Access

I'm having a problem with performance with a particular Microsoft Access database; all other MS Access databases work fine.
When I shutdown ZoneAlarm the problem database works fine, too.
The only difference in this database is that it uses replicated tables.
The performance degradation is NOT during syncing of this database, only when accessing its tables,
    no network interfacing is involved.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Operating System:Windows Vista Business
    Software Version:7.1 (Vista)
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Are any field types hyperlinks? OLE objects?
    Using Access VBA macros?
Perhaps those are being scanned which would be a good thing

Replicated tables - you mean a table is copied and renamed? I can't see how that would have anything to do with ZA, unless it's some enormous size duplicated.

    No to all 3 questions.
Replicated tables are tables that are flagged to be synchronized with another database.
Before and after images are kept of all changes in the "design master" database until the changes are sync-ed.
But the performance degradation that I see does not happen during the sync, only when doing data manipulation in the main database.
Actually, even if I only do retrieval/display of data.
I don't know why zass would have anything to do with it either, but I definitely see
    a marked improvement
    if I shutdown Zonealarm.
