Default ZA Blocks Windows access to local files

It appears that ZA has started to block access to local files and folders. I get a windows msg something like: "Windows cannot access the specified file or folder. You may not have access privileges."

I suspect ZA because when I shut it down, I have no problems. When I restart ZA, the problem returns.
If I restart the computer, its ok for a while, but eventually begins again.

Sounds like a corrupted database which can be caused by power outages and unexpected shutdowns.
Here is how to fix a corrupted database:Be aware by doing this you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.
1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
4. Empty the Recycle Bin
5. Reboot into the normal mode.
