Default Cannot open PDF files in IE using Acrobat Reader 8

When I attempt to open PDF files using IE 8.0, I receive an initial message
"There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat / Reader. Please Exit Adobe Acrobat / Reader and try again.
When I select OK, a second message appears "C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\..."
I followed all the steps in various Adobe KB articles, including Uninstall/Install latest version of Adobe
Reader 8.0.
Problem still exists.
I have the same problem when I try to open the PDF file on the web or a PDF file locally with IE.I did read about disabling Zone Alarm.
I enabled Windows Firewall then disabled ZA.
I am now able to open PDF files in Internet Explorer.
Turn ZA back on the problem comes back.Anyone know if,(A) Zone Labs is aware of this problem.?(B)
Is
there a solution and still keep ZA running?

Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
Software Version:7.0
Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum!

I am very sorry you are having problems with ZA and hopefully I will be able to find a solution for you.

PLEASE make sure you turn off your Mobile Code Control under Privacy. Then try to download the file. After you have download the file, make sure you go back and turn on the Mobile Code Control.

Actually I'd ditch the bloated Acrobat Reader 8. I use the faster slimmer Foxit Reader 2.2.

Actually I do have Adobe Reader 8.1.1.
I "fat fingered" the browser version.
I have IE 7.0

Here is the solution that fixed the problem

1. Open the zonealarm control center.
2. Go to the "Program Control" section.
3. Open the "Programs" tab.
4. Locate the "Internet Explorer" row.
5. Click on Internet Explorer's "Trust Level" and change it to "Ask".
6. Now when you use Internet Explorer to visit a PDF, Zonealarm will pop up a dialog to warn you that IE is using acrobat reader to access a resource...and let you choose that it is OK to do so

Thanks to everyone that responded to my post
