Default Bug with LUAs (Limited User Accounts) on Windows

I spent some time writing the following, then tried to submit it via the tech support form about 6 or 7 times in Firefox in many different ways but it wouldn't work, so I finally decided to use IE, and after all that, I get told that I can't use the form, as it's only for users of the paid version. Thanks.

    Anyway, here it is:

    --------------------------------------------------
    Hi,

After installing or upgrading ZA, various information windows appear, for example 'Reminders to Protect your Computing Environment', the tutorial, etc.

When running from an LUA (limited user account) in Windows, clicking 'No thanks' (or whatever the options are), has no affect. The next time the computer is restarted, the windows re-appear.

There are ways of getting rid of these messages (by logging into an admin account or by editing the appropriate registry values), but this is very inconvenient.

I think that it may be more logical to disable these messages in LUA environments, rather than just 'making it work' (which would probably involve providing support for a multi-user system). i.e. Does anyone other than the admin actually need to see these messages?

Please let me know if you have plans in this regard.

    Thanks,

    {name}.

P.S. Is there a public issue tracking system online for ZA?
P.P.S. Please fix this form for Firefox -- still doesn't work after following instructions.

    Dear DodgerLD:

Have you tried their Instant Support here:

    http://www.zonealarm.com/store/conte...ms&ctry=US =en

You might have to use IE to access this.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi WATCHER,

No, I hadn't. Tried now and there are no appropriate answers to the question 'how do I report a bug'.

Entered 'tutorial', and received this information:

"If the Tutorial keeps running every time you start, be sure that you close it with the Cancel button. If using NT, 2000, or XP, be sure to cancel from an Admin account. Do NOT use any program to reset to an older registry, or the original setting of "Read Tutorial" is set back to Yes."

... which means they know about the problem -- but why don't they fix it!?

    Disappointing.

    Dear DodgerLD:

Did you try the Customer Service or Technical Support option?

Question - are you using the Windows XP user fast-switching?
    ZA doesn't like it much.

    Using it for what?

I'm installing ZA with runas, and then running from an LUA.

Just checking, Windows XP fast-user switching allows you change user accounts quickly which you aren't using.

    Dear DodgerLD:

So, I take that you didn't actually chat with someone from CheckPoint. I have not used this service but when I clicked the link it opened a window to describe the problem. Did you try that?

    WATCHER,

"ZoneAlarm Instant Support is a web-based Technical Support Virtual Agent." (with emphasis on 'Virtual Agent')
