Default Firewall and spyware scanner toolbar slowing down PC

Since I installed the latest update for ZA F/W, if I leave the internet zone protection high, my svchost.exe uses upwards of %50 of my CPU. Also, the antispyware toolbar (using it in FF), slowed down browsing so badly I had to uninstall it (no way just to disable it from FF options). Even with the toolbar uninstalled, sites that loaded fine are still slow, and FF is still using roughly %50 of my CPU. Wasn't doing this before. I'm actually considering downgrading to the update for the F/W before this one.

Anyone know of any fixes/workarounds or exactly what's causing this?

I have an AMD Sempron 64, 1.8Ghz, 1024MB ddr ram, running XP SP2.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Looks like installing it with AVG A/V and A/spy fixed the issue (at least with the firewall, I didn't even bother with the toolbar this time). I never think it would have anything to do with it, so I guess I just needed a nudge in the right direction. Thanks.
