Default Average number of "blocked access attempts"..

I'm wondering what the average number of "blocked access attempts" is?
I've moved into a new office 6 weeks ago and have DSL with a fixed IP address.
Zonealarm tells me that there have been over 0.5 million "blocked access attempts" in the last 6 weeks.
In my opinion this is excessive but I would appreciate to hear form other users...

thanks for the reply.
I am using a Buffalo wireless router connected to a switch which in turn is router out to the Internet through DSL.
The router has a fairly standard/factory configuration apart from encryption and MAC-filter.
However the routers logfiles shows an extremely high number of refused TCP & UDP requests...
Any ideas?

No doubt the intrusions are from either the router or other networked hardware on your LAN.

The dns and dhcp server IPs used by the PC should be added as trusted in the Zones of the Firewall of the ZA. This is most often the main source of weird intrusions.
Check the Firewall log in the Alert and Log's Log Viewer to see where or which IP is the source of the intrusions to verifty this.

Your router's MAC can be entered in the Gateway option in the EXpert of the Firewall. This way not just the PC is MAC'd in the router, but the router is now MAC'd in the ZA.

Best regards.
