I have recently replaced ZA ISS (temporarily I hope) due to stated issues with Vista SP1, with the Norton product. There are a few issues I've noted with this release of ZA, and I'm hoping this is the place to raise them, as I can't find a feedback section on the main ZA site. I'm not looking for answers, just highlighting some niggles I'm aware of with Vista, that I hope may be of some use, to someone, maybe.
(1) Multi-user support on a single PC causes some problems - If I "switch user" from an admin to another user, any dialog boxes that appear such as Changed program- Allow/Deny etc do not appear in the active session - they appear in the original session and are only visible when you switch back user, (effectively blocking the connection in the current session). Whilst it's arguable this is not a bad thing, I'd at least prefer the option of allowing or denying something in the active session.(2) When logging off one user and logging on as another (without using fast user switching), the whole internet connection seems to go into slow-mo mode, taking an age to resolve DNS queries (browser site on "looking up site blah" for a while) - the computer remains in this state until a reboot. I had thought this was some new
Vista nastiness, but the problem has gone since moving f/w.
And a more general observation compared to the Norton product(3) Boot time is extremely slow - it takes an age for the client to appear visible in the status bar, as though it's not being included in the fastboot cache
