Default network only as secure as most vulnerable components?

Greetings, I am confused and frustrated:

After installing zone alarm a pop up came up and said zone alarm detected a new network connection or connection to the internet and asks if I want to put my home network in the trusted or internet zone. Now in my home there are two computers hooked up to a adsl modem. Our computers are networked together. Here is my question: Since there are two computers networked together...if I put the network in the trusted zone, since both computers access the internet,,,doesn't that put the whole internet in the trusted zone???

    Thanks
    Clint

Not the entire internet is trusted, just the dhcp and dns server and of course your own two PCs. The rest of the internet is still internet, not trusted.
Also does your dsl modem do any NAT (your PCs at home are in the private ranges like 10.x.x.x or 192.169.x.x or 172.16.x.x to 172.32.x.x)?

    Best regards.
