Default How to Monitor ZoneAlarm Status

I have ZoneAlarm installed on the machines on a home network.

Recently, Norton Anti-Virus / Windows have erroneously reported that ZoneAlarm is no longer operating. My family reports this to me, I open ZoneAlarm and find it is running.

Unfortunately, what my family learns from this is to ignore the warnings that ZoneAlarm is not running.

I'd like to monitor ZoneAlarm remotely. Because I'm a programmer in my day job, I have no problem accessing files and Windows services to report the ZoneAlarm status to me.

How can I determine the status of ZoneAlarm programatically?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

    Couple tips of it working:
Z icon present in the system tray.
vsmon.exe shown in task manager or Process explorer.
True Vector Internet Monitor (vsmon's fancy name) is started in services (your program can ask if the service is running).
Attempts to rename or delete ZAlog.txt or TVdebug.log or [yourcomputername]\ldb or IAMDB.rdb in windows\internet logs fails.

There may well be others, that's all I can think of now.
