    Default 8.0.020 version causing numerous problems

    After installing version 8.0.020 I am having the following problems:
    1. When an inactivity timeout occurs on the PC, when I go to use the computer, it hangs for several minutes until I get the screen to select a user. The it may take 1 minute or more before the password prompt appears after selecting the user to login as.
    2. ScanningProcess.exe goes berserk periodically
      and pegs the CPU, locking up the entire system until it finishes.





    I am running XP Pro
    SP3. No I did not do a clean install and I SERIOUSLY doubt that will solve the problem.

    Sounds exactly like my problem. I am returning to a previous version. Imagine that will produce a clean install whether I want it or not!

    I logged the problem with tech support, but I am stating to look at other alternatives.

    Please Submit Full Details of your Problem and What other Software you have on your Computer that may be in conflict with ZoneAlarm..

    I too have logged it to tech support. I see lots of messages on other threads relating to v8 problems. I've reinstalled v7.0.483 and things have returned to normal.
