Default Odd problems just started - Did not upgrade.

I have been running ZA internet security suite version 7.0.483 without any problems until recently.
I tried to manually scan my system and when I clicked on update I was prompted for a password, as usual.
    However,
when I entered my password it would not validate.
I remember my password but it's not accepting it.
Then I noticed that the firewall is turned off.
I can't turn it on because it's prompting me for the password.
I can't do anything with the product including uninstalling it because of the password issue.

I am not sure what to do at this point.
    Any suggestions?

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Please try these instructions and hopefully they will resolve your issue.

    *Reboot into Safe Mode.
*Locate the 'Internet Logs' folder in your WINDOWS directory and delete it.
*Locate the ZoneLabs folder in C:\WINDOWS\System32 and delete it.
    *Empty your Recycle Bin.
    *Reboot.

Run a disk cleanup, empty your 'Prefetch' folder (all the files with the exception of the notepad configuration file), empty your Recycle Bin and reboot. Now proceed with the installation.
Using something like this Freeware CCleaner <--- http://www.ccleaner.com/download/bui...wnloading-slim
, will help do the cleanup as well on both the Hard drive and the Registry .

Now Re-install the ZA program now. Accept the Default settings and choose TRUSTED ZONE..Reboot..

    Thank you for the response.

I had delete the 'internet logs' files prior to posting, but that didn't help.
Also, I use ccleaner which makes it much easier.

I will try your suggestion when I get home and report back.
    Thanks again.
