    Hi GeorgeV, on my previous post windows slow shut down you supplied the contact details for ZA, just wanted to say thanks, I got through ok but the thread was closed when I tried to add this message to it.

    I didn t have much luck with tech support, but
    as you say
    the more customers that contact them direct, the better the chance a fix will be out soon.

    They did send me a customer satisfaction survey asking for comments though.

    Now that I did enjoy replying to!

    Thank you Very Much for Getting back to me with your progress report..Tech Support is Swamped and collecting ZA Log Files to Ferret out the Problem..They Recommend staying with Version 7.0.483.000 for now..Thank you again..

    GeorgeV, I want to thank you too. You were among the first recommending to go back to version 7 until Check Point finds a fix. Only since yesterday, there is an official statement with the same message, although they stopped automatic upgrade to version 8 already on Monday.

    I'm still running ZASS 8.0.015.0 and it seems to allow both automatic and manual updates. I can see no reason to downgrade to 7.0.483.0. Would you agree?

    Hmmm.. I have ZASS 8.0.015.000 for both XP and Vista Installed here with no problem for me..But the Forum Moderator and Tech support are Recomending anybody with a Problem to go back to 7.0.483.000 for WinXP and 7.1.254.000 for Vista..But for the Most part this Seems to be a Problem on WinXP..

    Boot-up times are normal, no unusual behavior or slowdowns, no problems with Internet or any programs, normal ZoneAlarm update and operation. Except for one thing: shutdowns take about 45 seconds longer. Most of us don't reboot very often so unless your installing a fresh copy of Windows requiring many reboots, it's not an immediate problem. But as I said, this is with version 8.0.015.0, not 8.0.020.0.
