Default Setting Zone Alarm to also protect added on external hard drive

I've recently added an external hard drive to my windows 2000 Professional Dell PC.
    Its a Seagate.
Do I have to indicate to Zone alarm somehow that the added external hard drive exists?
    If so, how?
Keep in mind that I only turn on the hard drive when I need it.
I have the Zone Alarm Firewall - paid for version.Windows 2000 ProPC

Well, for antivirus or antispyware scans, there's a setting to scan various drive letters. But I don't think ZA Pro has any of the AS or AV components. ZA doesn't watch drives. It watches traffic and programs' behavior regardless of drive letter.

I suspect you need to do nothing. Just make sure that whatever goes to external is nice and clean.
If you put executable programs on external, just make sure they're scanned.
If you make backups/images to external, make sure what you backup is clean.
