    Default Performance problems between HP D7460 printer and ZASS ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:8.0.020.000

    I have a new HP Photosmart D7460 and had what I thought was installation and printer performance problems. For example, it took over 3 min to bring up the printer properties window and over 3 min to print a test page. Also other programs take a much longer time to load and display. Windows were slow to repaint. After doing my 5th reinstall with ZA turned off, I brought up the printer properties window fast and printed a test page immediately. I turned ZASS back on and the operations were slow again. Is this a problem with this version? Are there any settings in ZASS that I can change to improve the performance?

    I should have said the printer is connected to my home network via ethernet cable to a Linsys WRT54G. I have added the printer's IP address to the ZASS trusted zone. Are there other components I need to add to ZA? Could this be a problem w/ ZASS v 8.0.020.00?

    Thanks for the recommendation. I uninstalled ZASS v8 and installed v7.0.483. That seems to have resolved my printer problems. I had spent many days with HP support trying to fix the problem. I wish Checkpoint had notified me by email or through the client of the problem w/ v8. It would have saved me hours of effort and frustration.
