    Default Did everything Still keep getting Error message (unable to connect to anti-virus update)



    Hi GURU Fax, or anyone




    1. Well I did everything you said to do for a clean reinstall 7.0.483 .(Still no good) keep getting same error (Anti-Virus error: unable to connect.)

    2.Re formated my computer and loaded everything again from scratch (still no good)

    3.Also deleted zone alarm update files in safe mode ( no good)

    This Is the first time in 6 years I have had any problems.

    What do you recommend next? I will do anything even smash the computer if that helps (it would help me) .:8}

    Hi!
    last time you posted you had hangs on your system... this sounds different
    Did you really formatted the XP machine? This is important.
    Or was just did a reinstall without wiping out your HD?

    Did you removed the 'Zonelabs' folder in system32 and 'Internet Logs' folder in windows after uninstalling ZA?

    Is your system free of malware? Have you checked with other tools suggested here:

    Have you checked your hosts file? It should only entry (127.0.0.1 localhost)
    %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\

    What kind of network drivers are you using?
    May be an nVidia controller?

    Did the update ever worked on that machine?
    Post the content of your _updLog.txt in "C:\Windows\System32\ZoneLabs\avsys

    Hi GURU Fax.
    Well i am up and going again, I formated my hard drive again 6th time and reloaded an old version: 7.0.462.000 that I was running before,all seems ok so far.I think it must have been a Trojan. I will look up and down load software you recomended.My computer started playing up a week ago thats why I down loaded the new version. I think I will stick to what works.I can't thank you enough

    Hi!Great...:8} but you should update to latest ZA version 7.0.483.000.After that please patch your windows XP up to latest security update.This is often the cause of easy of malware infection.. i.e. running a unpatched system.Cheers,Fax
