Default trying to block IRC in Vista with Zone Alarm- expert rules not working

    Hey,
I've been trying to block IRC in Vista with Zone Alarm.
I went to expert rules, and made a Protocol Group called "IRC ports" that specifies TCP destination ports 194, 6660-9, 6679, 6697 and 531.
When I apply an expert rule that the IRC client should be blocked against this Protocol Group (in program control>program>options>expert rules), it blocks IRC.
But when I made an expert rule that the entire computer should be blocked against this protocol group (in firewall>expert) , nothing happened.
So then I tested an expert rule that blocks TCP port 80. As far as I can tell, this should have crippled the entire internet, but it did nothing.
Is there a reason the expert rules don't work?
Using the latest ZoneAlarm and fully patched Windows Vista.

    Thanks for your help,
    Elanor

You included both My Computer and Internet Zone in the Source and Destination for the Firewall Expert rule?

    Best regards.
