Default Websites Not Loading Correctly after Update to ZA Pro 8.0.059.000

ZoneAlarm Pro version:8.0.059.000
TrueVector version:8.0.059.000
Driver version:8.0.059.000
Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.202.0
Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200812.5085

ZA auto updated last night and this morning most web pages are not loading correctly. Adding a URL to the list and selecting to allow everything does not solve issue. I had to shut down ZA in order to be able to use this forum! Running latest version of Firefox, but problem is same in IE 7. Running ZA on Vista SP1.

Operating System:Windows Vista Home Premium
Software Version:8.0
Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

dontosaw,
Have you tried resetting the za database, maybe it's corrupted:

To reset the Zone Alarm database do this:

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

Be aware that by resetting the database you will lose all your customizations. Your zone alarm will be fresh, like new so copy down any settings you'll need to recreate. And with a corrupt za database you will not want to use any backup option to restore previous settings which would be corrupt.

If the database reset clears the
issue then you may want to consider doing periodic backups of your zone alarm settings, so if the database gets corrupted you can restore your za settings from a backup and be good to go again.
Here's how to back up your customized settings:

Backing up and restoring security settings

You can back up your existing security settings to an XML file so that you can restore them later, should you need to.

To do so could cause an extremely high number of alerts to appear due to differences among computers, applications, and Windows processes.

The ability to back up and restore settings is only available in ZoneAlarm Pro and ZoneAlarm Security Suite.

To
restore security settings

It's a good practice to get in the habit of backing up your settings periodically and/or whenever you've made major changes to your settings; then if you need to do a database reset, or upgrade or new install then you've got all your previous settings which can be restored using the handy backup feature of zone alarm.
