Default zone alarm prevents monitor standby

i've had this problem in the past and is the main reason i went with another firewall product
well i'm back and upset that i still cannot allow the monitor to enter standby with zone alarm installed
shutting off a monitor is the key to power save while still allowing necessary pc functions to run
it is a convenience...but more of a hassle when you cannot simply use the monitor power button to shut it off.
my monitor also runs all my usb peripherals...so shutting off the monitor disconnects all these peripherals
    most importantly the printer/fax.

can anyone help disable zone alarms activity bringing the monitor out of standby
or a setting that can be tweaked to ignore it...allowing standby

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:8.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

I'm having the same problem. After going through my entire setup I finally nailed zlclient as the culprit. I'm running 8.0.059.000.

    Have you found any solution?

It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..
If you would Describe your Computer Setup/OS and Version of Zone Alarm that you are having a problem with
and what difficulty you are having, and what Previous Version of ZA and Norton, McAfee or other Security programs that you have installed,
there are several knowledgeable Volunteer Participants willing to help you try solving your problem with Zone Alarm..Please provide as much detail and error messages etc. that you see on your ComputerMonitor. If you have a question or a problem Please start your own thread. And start only 1 thread for each problem.</COLOR> --------------------------------------------------------
