Default Superantispyware pro and ZA compatability.

Hello-I am trying to find up to date info on running ZA 8.0.059.000 in conjunction with SuperAntiSpyware pro version which has real time protection. Will this real time protection interfere with the running of ZA?I had a problem with my ZA spyware not updating. On advice in the forums I ran SuperAntietc and my problem was fixed, along with 80 other threats including rootkits, hence my desire to run Superetc with ZA.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.I have tried to research this is the forums but with no success.Thank you.Fred.

Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition

I successfully run SuperAntiSpyware Professional v4.25.0.1012 with Real-Time Protection Enabled under the protection of:
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite v7.0.483.000 and ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite v8.0.059.000

NOTE: If you are having trouble with ZoneAlarm Failing to Update the Spyware Module/Definitions Try Re-setting ZoneAlarm:
Hold the Ctrl + Shift Keys Down on the Keyboard and RightClick the ZoneAlarm Icon down by the System Clock and Choose Reset.
You will have to reconfigure some of your settings afterwards.
NOTE: I am not familiar with the Products: SuperAntietc or Superetc

Thank you for your reply,Stupefy.I will go ahead and run SuperAntiSpyware Pro.As a matter of interest, does anyone run ZA 8 with SuperAntiSpyware AND ForceField,or would this be a case of doubling up on security measures?

The Real-Time Protection of SuperAntiSpyware Professional is not as Superior as ZoneAlarm's Real-Time Protection.
The Professional Version of SuperAntiSpyware offers the option of Disabling the Real-Time Protection Features of
SuperAntiSpyware Professional, allowing the user to run SuperAntiSpyware Professional as an On-Demand Scanner only.

The best solution is to Download the Trial Version of SuperAntiSpyware Professional and give it an spin on your
computers setup.....if the product works with Real-Time Protection Enabled.....Great, If the Real-Time Protection
Features of SuperAntiSpyware Professional generate any negative aftermath, then try Disabling the Real-Time
Protection Features of Super AntiSpyware Professional and see what happens.....should there be no negative aftermath
running SuperAntiSpyware Professional in On-Demand Mode (real-time protection disabled).....Great.....you now have
an On-Demand Scanner, for an, and as an, second opinion concerning Spyware and other such similar categorized Malware.

Now.....the Free Version of SuperAntiSpyware.....exists all of the features of the Professional Version, minus the
Real-Time Protection Features, Automatic Updates, and an few other features. The only negative opinion I have
concerning the Free Version of SuperAntiSpyware, is that the Free Version of SuperAntiSpyware, even though it does
not exist Real-Time Protection, the First Chance Protection Feature is Active and can not be Disabled.
The First Chance Protection Feature will scan the computer at each Startup, Shutdown, and Reboot for Infections.
The First Chance Protection Feature Can Be Disabled with the Professional Version of SuperAntiSpyware.

You can compare the Free and Retail Versions of SuperAntiSpyware here:
http://www.superantispyware.com/supe...freevspro.html

ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite exists all of the features that are needed to Protect and Keep an Computer Safe and
Clean from All Types of Infections, not just Spyware.

You can compare all the features of all the ZoneAlarm Products here:

to the Zone Alarm User Forum..Here is my two cents worth..1.) I use the Free Superantispyware with ZASS with no problem..2.) When you start doubling up Security Features from different products.. You risk lowering your Protection, instead of adding to it.., because competing features may conflict or fight each other and you end up with less protection..3.) Please note that ZASS does not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled). To troubleshoot ZASS issues remove them and install back once you see that ZA works as it should. For example,Norton/Symantec, McAfee,Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotS&D, PC tools Threatfire, otherantivirus, antispyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...4.) Just One, Not Two -- Never use two software Firewalls at the same time.
Just One, Not Two -- Never use two Anti-virus products at the same time.

Hello Stupefy and GeorgeV-thank you for your info-it has been most helpful and appreciated.I had considered doing away with ZASS,on advice of our local computer techno who recommends Nod32,which comes with its own "ForceField" built in-this especially so having seen the 80 threats SuperAntiSpyware picked up on trying to fix my ZA spyware updates. However having read this review,http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02 have decided to keep with ZASS and run with SuperAntiSpyware free version in the meantime. Thanks again.
