Default no Internet after few minutes when Zonealarm is disabled and vista firewall enabled

Hi
After I experienced the issues discussed on this forum and on the net in general
like software lags as well as slow shutdowns, I decided to disable ZA V8 and wait to see if there will be a solution to that... In the meantime I thought using the Vista firewall....
So I unchked the option that runs ZA when PC starts, shut down ZA and activated Vista default Firewall and rebooted
Now the issue is, PC reboots and ZA is not running (no tray icon)... lag and slowdowns seem
gone but now weirdly, with Vista firewall running, the internet connection stops after few minutes until I reboot again, it works for few minutes and stops again...
So to make a test, I disabled Vista firewall and re-enabled ZA to start again with the PC, rebooted, ZA ran
and the internet is running all the time correctly without connection
going off...
My question is that, even though ZA
does not start with the PC (non system tray icon) is it still doing some activity in the background and conflicting with Vista firewall ?
Or is it a Vista firewall issue by itself?
I do not want to unistall ZA
all I need is to disable it for now until a fix to the V8 issues show on the horizons
Any
tip is apreciated
Thanks!

to the Zone Alarm User Forum..We don't know what version of ZA for Vista thatyour using?1.) It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..
If you would Describe your Computer Setup/OS and Version of Zone Alarm that you are having a problem with
and what difficulty you are having, and what Previous Version of ZA and Norton, McAfee or other Security programs that you have installed,
there are several knowledgeable Volunteer Participants willing to help you try solving your problem with Zone Alarm..Please provide as much detail and error messages etc. that you see on your ComputerMonitor.

2.) Please note that ZASS does not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled). To troubleshoot ZASS issues remove them and install back once you see that ZA works as it should. For example,Norton/Symantec, McAfee,Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotS&D, PC tools Threatfire, otherantivirus, antispyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

3.)some Computer Users think that if one Firewall and anti-Virus is good, two or three different ones running at the same time must be better?

Just One, Not Two -- Never use two software Firewalls at the same time.
Just One, Not Two -- Never use two Anti-virus products at the same time. ---------------------------------------
