Default ZoneAlarm Pro 8.0.298 + Vista Ultimate 64 bit + Outlook 2007 receiving corrupted email attachments

    Firstly, I
was very pleased to see several days that ZAP 8.0.298 was Vista 64 bit compatible, so I
    uninstalled
**bleep** Firewall and proceeded to do
a clean install of ZAP 8.0.298
on Vista Ultimate 64 bit which appeared to go very
    smoothly.
    But the problem
is since installation of ZAP 8.0.298,

every email attachment received (in Outlook 2007) is being corrupted, regardless of whether Inbound Mailsafe protection is on or off. (Also it doesn't seem to relate to any one filetype). It's corrupting every email attachment
    whether they be
jpg, pps, pdf, etc...). The corrupted attachments are never the same filesize as the original uncorrupted filesize. Sometimes an attachment (e.g. jpg) shows
the contents of the corrupted file as text in the body of the email.
I have not experienced any Outbound issues.
    If I shutdown
ZAP, the problem instantly goes away (New emails received show no corruption in the
attachments whatsoever).Start ZAP again, and the problem is back.
It appears as if ZAP is corrupting email attachments.
As you can imagine, I would like to get my emails in one piece.
    Anyone else
    suffering the same issue ?
Any ideas on what I should do ?
For those curious, I'm also running NOD32 v4 Antivirus.
    Thanks...

    Operating System:Windows Vista 64 bit
    Software Version:8.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

    Try this:
    Navigate to:
    ZoneAlarm Interface/E-mail Protection/Attachments/
Do one at an time and in the Quarantine Column LeftClick the Blue Icon and choose 'Allow'
Try *.JPEG first and see if an Attachment will come through Uncorrupted

Thanks stupefy,I tried your suggestion, but it made no difference.

I did however find that in NOD32 AV v4
if I disable POP3 email scanning OR set the POP3 filtering
to maximum compatibility, then the problem disappears.
    Recapping... All
    email
    attachments are
    being received
    as corrupted in Outlook 2007
on Vista64 Ultimate with ZoneAlarm Pro 8.0.298 and NOD32 AV 4.0.314.0 (without disabling/altering POP3 filtering in NOD32 OR shutting down ZAP).
    Please note:
Running the same programs and settings on Windows XP Pro instead of Vista 64 Ultimate,
    the problem does NOT exist.
The problem first arose after installing ZAP 8.0.298.
Seems there's something conflicting between NOD32 & ZAP running on Vista 64 bit.
    Firstly, I will
    contact an ESET
    Rep
(re NOD32) and go from there.

I have been searching on internet for an answer to my own problem, which appears similar to yours. All my e-mail attachments suddenly started arriving corrupted. I am with Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1, Eset NOD32 antivirus v 4, and ZO Pro v 8.0.298.000.

I tried a few things - first I disabled e-mail scanning via ZA Pro. This made no difference. I then disabled e-mail scanning in ESET and this seemed to work. So I guess there must be a problem with certain systems and latest version of NOD32 antivirus.

I sent a little note to ESET asking about this, no response as yet.
