Asking this on behalf of an even less computer literate family member who lives thousands of miles away - so forgive me if I'm a little sketchy on details.
There are 2 zonealarm icons showing in their taskbar. One is for the usual ZAISS - updated and current as of this post, and the other appears to be an icon which options upon right clicking relate only to email protection. Both always load on startup. The ZA icon relating to email protection doesn't seem to have any options to hide it from showing in the taskbar. Also under registration options for this ZA icon it's licence does not seem to be the same as the main ZAISS program installed, (it reckons the licence is wrong and the valid licence for the main ZAISS will not be accepted in the box for the licence as it's a different format - I'm led to believe xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx, as opposed to the usual xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx, if that makes sense...)There is an option to disable, rather than shutdown upon right clicking this ZA icon, but if this is done then it appears that ZA junk mail filtering and email protection isn't run when then opening Outlook Express (there's no ZA splash screen), regardless of the settings for email protection in the 'other', main ZAISS.
I've been running zonealarm for a couple of years and have never come across this personally. A google search doesn't seem to help with any answers either, so please, has anyone else seen this or can shed some light on what should be done short of uninstalling everything ZA that can be found on the PC and doing a clean, new install?
Cheers in advance.
