    Default Stuck in Task Bar

    XP Pro SP2**bleep** Antivirus 2008 Build 11.0.17ZoneAlarm Pro 8.0.298.000
    For some reason the ZA AntiSpyware scan that runs nightly sometimes gets "stuck" on the task bar. The task says "ZoneAlarm Pro".
    If you left click on it nothing happens. If you right click you do not get any popup options to "Close, Maximize, ...". In the Task Manager it does not show up in Applications. The only way to get rid of it is to reboot.
    What is going on with this and how do I get it to stop
    Very, very annoying.

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>It sounds like your ZA Database may be corrupted.

    ZA has incorparated a new way to Reset DataBase files so users don't need to go into Safe mode.


    To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
    this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
    note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

    1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together then

    2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
    3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
    4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
    5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
    6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot


    Did the Reset fix the problem..

    Spoke too soon. Still have the same problem! Clearing the database did not work.

    I normally leave my PC on all the time and do not reboot very often. If I do reboot and the ZA scan runs automatically at night then the window gets &quot;stuck&quot; in the task bar. However, it appears that if I run the ZA scan manually after a reboot then the auto scan window does not get &quot;stuck&quot; in the task bar - but not sure
    if this always works. I was also having the same problem with the prior release but don't remember when it started. I &quot;think&quot; I had been running the release for some time before this started up. Its not critical just annoying!
