Default Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Crashes - Klif.sys?

My PC has been crashing on a regular basis. It has gotten to the point where I have decided I need to do something about it? I have run WinDbg and these appears to indicate the problem is a file called Klif.sys? Searching on the web seems to indicate this is associated with my Zone Alarm product? I am currently running the following:-
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:7.0.483.000
    TrueVector version:7.0.483.000
    Driver version:7.0.483.000
    Anti-virus engine version:3
    Anti-virus SDK version:5.0.1.85
    Anti-virus signature DAT file version:984705910
    Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.189.0
    Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200905.5915
    AntiSpam version:5.0.6.8903
    Anyone any ideas?
Many thanks in advance for anyone whom can offer advise?

Hi!Klif.sys is the key system file of the kaspersky antivirus in ZoneAlarm. This could indicate a lot of many different origin of the problem. From running other overlapping security tools to corruption of ZA files or malware infections.Any specific reason for not updating to version 8? Klif.syshas undergo several update since version 7.Its is essential you update your XP up to the lastes patch (SP3 +all). If not, please do not follow the instruction below.See below a complete procedure to remove ZA, clean your system, check for malware, remove incompatible softwareand install the latest version.First remove ZASS with the ZA removal tool (download on desktop and run as administrator):http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exeDouble check that all ZA related files/folders are gone:01.) Restart your computer
02.) When you see the screen go black and it starts booting back up keep
tapping the "F8" key (at the top of your keyboard)
03.) This should bring up a menu. Choose Safe Mode off the menu by
using the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Safe Mode and press
    Enter
04.) If you get a message asking to go to Safe Mode, choose Yes. If you
get a help and support window, close this.
5.) Double Click the Program Files Folder
6.) Right Click the Zone Labs Folder, click Delete, and choose Yes

NOTE: If you cannot delete the entire folder, please open the Zone Labs -
    > ZoneAlarm folder and delete out as many of the files listed here as
    possible.

    7.) Close this window
    8.) Click Start, My Computer
    9.) Double Click the C:
10.) Double Click the Windows Folder (It may also be WinNT)
11.) Right Click the Internet Logs Folder, click Delete, and choose Yes
12.) Double Click the System32 Folder
13.) Right Click the Zone Labs Folder, click Delete, and choose Yes
NOTE: If you cannot delete the entire folder, please open the Zone Labs
folder and delete out as many of the files listed here as possible.

15.) Clear the Prefetch folder per the instructions below.
    - Go to Start -> Run
    - Type Prefetch and click OK
    - Select all of these files and delete them16.) Empty your recycle bin.
    17.) Restart the computer.
18.) Check the system for malware. Check with MBAM and SuperAntispyware. See links here:http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/b...essage.id=378719.) ZA does not play nice with many other security tools. They may block its correct functioning including updates. For example, spyware doctor, spysweeper, trojan hunter, win patrol, PCtools Threat Fire, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec, Adaware, SpybotS&D, WinPatrol, AVG, Avas t free, NOD, Kaspersky, Rising products,PC doctorand manyothers. If you want to troubleshoot issues with ZA please remove these tools (not enough to disable) and install back (if you really need) only after you see your ZA is working as it should.20). Clean your system and registry with ccleaner.comhttp://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds/downloadbinslim21). Re-download the ZASS installerwww.zonealarm.com/zasuitedownload 22). Install with default settings do NOT alter them. After re-boot go to ZA antivirus/antispyware and 'Update Now' and do not restore any previous ZA settings.Cheers,Fax

I have the same BSOD shut downs, I love ZA but I'm starting to think I need to find another security program.I followed the directions from the moderator
to the letter, the new ZA installed without incident but after logging off I could not re-start my windows OS...I am forced to install windows from a backup.
(to Mod/tech support) My issues may be linked to a BSOD shut down caused by my graphic card
drivers? I had it happen while playing a game. It seems that if ZA is active and you get a BSOD for any reason it can corrupt the ZA install and cause many more issues than a simple reset of the OS.... just a thought. If this is the case is there anything that could be disabled in ZA to keep it from damaging my ability to start my OS?
Does anyone know what version of ZA is stable without the BSOD issues? I would like to try and roll back to this before calling it quits.
    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..
If you would Describe your Computer Setup/OS and Version of Zone Alarm that you are having a problem with
and what difficulty you are having,1.) You did not provide info on what Version of Windows you using? WinXP SP3 32-Bit, or Vista SP1 32-Bit ot 64-Bit? 2.) Or What Version and Type of ZoneAlarm you are having a problem with?..---------------------------------------
