Default New version interferes with Verizon VZAccessMananger

I have just installed the free version 8.0.298.0, and finds that it screws up my connection with Verizon Wireless broadband. When I click connect in VZ Access Manager, it opens a new browser window and goes to a page http://quickaccess.verizon.com/quickaccess/etc,etc. There I must enter my zip code and it goes to a Verizon welcome page. This whole process takes 10x longer than the old way, which was that it just quickly connected and didn't open anything. Any ideas? Mike

No ideas at all other than these links of 8 pages and 9 pages to read
    http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/vz...eshooting.html
    http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/vz..._settings.html
The second one is about conflicting applications.

What was your previous ZA version which worked quicker?

I gather from a quick look that this access manager is meant for on-the-road laptops. It could be VPN issue, and if so, in ZA preferences you can allow VPN.

Thanks for the advice. I will go through those steps tomorrow.
Verizon access works just like dialup, only through the Verizon Wireless cellular network, and a lot faster. I have used it successfully for about a year and a half. It has VPN capability, but I have no need to use it. Previous version of ZA was 70.483.00. No problems with that or previous versions. Mike

Follow-up: After trying several things with ZA, I installed the latest version of VZAccessManager and the problem went away. Don't know why that worked, perhaps Verizon changed something to be compatible with the new version of ZA.

Thanks for posting back. It's interesting.
Yup, Verizon may well have changed something.
Another possiblility is they changed nothing, but ZA's new drivers might have clashed with the previously installed Verizon thing. Then when you installed Verizon AFTER ZA was settled in, they merged and can coexist. All this is speculation on my part of course
