    Default ZoneAlarm User Interface Blank

I tried downloading and installing it again (free firewall version), incase that would provide a fix, but it won't install again, possibly because it's already installed.

Another thing that may or may not be related is that I noticed ZoneAlarm seemed to have forgotten all my earlier 'Accept' and 'Deny' decisions, as it suddenly started asking me, all over again, about things I've decided about more than a year ago.

But I mainly need the UI to show up for now, because I need to permanently allow an online game. Right now I have to enable 'Auto-accept' in "Game Mode" before I start the game everytime, or I'm looking at a frozen computer in need of restarting. However, these 'Auto-accepts' aren't permanent, so I need to get into the UI, which is now blank.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late reply.

Let's try resetting the database. Please note that this will remove your program permission settings, but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together.
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner.
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up.
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box.
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system.
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot.

Let me know if this solved your issue. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem and the steps above didn't change anything.

My wife bought and a laptop recently and her's was this way as soon as she installed zone alarm.

Where are the options? Is this the supposed to look this way?

    Hi charlieboorman,
Uninstall ZoneAlarm from Add/Remove Programs first. Then manually remove any traces of ZA using the instructions here:
I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (XP/2000)
I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (Vista)

Reboot your computer once, download a new installer from zonealarm.com and install it.

Let me know if that works or not.
