Default Using ZA in Safe Mode

Looking after 3 computers at home, all running Xp, home and professional. To my horror, I found that I could not access ZA ui when starting the computer in safe mode. After starting ZA in safe mode, the icon appears in the task bar, but hovering over it gives a bubble with the message "protection is up, ui is initializing" and nothing happens. Same on all 3 computers. 2 running version 8.0.400.020 and one version 8.0.059.000. One was a clean install and the other an upgrade. I was able to run ZA in safe mode several versions ago.
How is this corrected? I would have thought it critically important that a security suite could be run in safe mode.

    Hi!
ZA firewall does not work in SAFE MODE and never worked in any version. The firewall driver is not loaded and the icon should be red crossed (older version) or not appearing or appearing but the firewall is not functional.

The antivirus/antispyware engine works (started manually) if you boot in SAFE MODE with NETWORKING. This is usually use for cleaning infection that cannot be removed in normal mode.

    Thanks for your reply.
Well, I must be thinking of some other product, although I've had ZA for several years. Trouble is, if the UI doesn't start, how do you start a scan?

    Hi!
you have to boot in SAFE MODE with NETWORKING then run ZA manually from start --> all programs --> etc...
