    Default Norton 360

Just got a new laptop, Toshiba L355. How do I get Vista Home Basic to allow me to uninstall this program I do not want? I can't even get it to shut down when the Norton splash screen opens inviting me to "activate" it. I don't want it. I would like to be able to install my ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:8.0.298.035. Anyone have any thoughts? Norton 360 is like a virus itself! Thanks! Help! I can't spend anymore time on this...without going crazy.
