Thread: Network problem

    Default Network problem

I have to pc:s, one with ZASS (Vista machine) the other is running Windows XP firewall (XP machine). They are both connected to the Internet via a DIR-655.

The Vista machine regularly loses the connection to the router which means that it cannot access the Internet. The XP machine is just fine.

One way to cure this problem temporarily is to disconnect the network cable and plug it in again. The Vista machine will then regain router and Internet access, but loose it some time later in an almost random fashion.

I dont know how to pin down this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi!
if it is a ZA issue it may be related to not trusting the DNS and DHCP.
Add the IP address if your DNS and DHCP to the firewall trusted zone. To determine your DNS and DHCP see here

Note that the ZA firewall trusted zone should be set to MEDIUM and NOT high.

Also ensure you are running the latest ZASS, see here.

If all is setup correctly you may want to reset the ZA settings, they may be corrupted.

    Here:
ZoneAlarm does not remember my settings

If it does not work then its most likely not a ZA issue.
