    Hi!
ZA 9 does not support XP SP1 you need to move to SP3 or SP2 (SP2 may not work).

Question Re: Anyone installed ZA Pro 9.0.083.000?

Upgrade install of ZA Pro 9.0.083.000 today. Everything fine, settings all carried across, update works etc - except no anti-spyware scan. If there is no anti-spyware then why is there a "scan computer" task in the quick tasks list?

I installed ZoneAlarm Pro 9.0.083.000 on the morning of September 1 and had to uninstall it first thing this morning. The first few hours after install, it ran okay – even though I missed the anti-malware. However, I was relieved because I could finally access the Internet. The prior version was making internet access all but impossible. [Oh, and I use Vista Home Premium and IE 8, Firefox 3.5 and Opera 10].
At any rate, by yesterday evening my computer was beginning to act strange. I did not at first think it was ZA, however as I had difficulties with the previous version, I found that CPU usage was considerably up. Additionally, Windows Sidebar crashed and would not load. I did a reboot and could only get it to load partially, but off screen. After the next reboot, Qlock World Time refused to load. Then Opera 10 slowed to a crawl. I switched to Firefox and it too had slowed to a crawl. My previously fast Internet access had slowed down significantly by 1AM this morning. After two hours of frustration, I finally went to bed by 2AM, resolved to uninstall it first thing after I woke up. Am now back to the prior version with intermittent Internet access.

Here is the Current DATa on why ZAPro 9.0 is missing Anti-Spyware..

    ZoneAlarm Pro version 9.0.083.000
    • New Browser Security:
      • Advanced Download Protection:
        • Detects the latest zero-day threats in downloads that you initiate—before they reach your computer
        • Includes heuristic analysis and program check
        • Can run and analyze download behavior in a virtual environment if necessary
      • Spy site detection
      • Signature and heuristic phishing detection
      • Website safety check and rating

    • Program control features to stop advanced security bypass attacks:
      • Timing attack protection
      • Service control manager protection (not supported on 64-bit and Windows 7)

    • Other enhancements:
      • Many performance improvements
      • Reduced number of unnecessary alerts
      • Windows 7 32-bit ready (Free compatibility update to run on Windows 7 when it is released)

Note: To serve our customers who have a need for a streamlined high-end firewall product, especially to complement an existing anti-virus program, ZoneAlarm Pro firewall no longer includes the anti-spyware feature. To further streamline in an age where web privacy controls are built into the most popular browsers and email attachment scanning is included in the major email applications, privacy controls and inbound MailSafe have also been removed with this release.

Question Re: Anyone installed ZA Pro 9.0.083.000?

I just installed it due to a problem and a need to re-install.
The arrangement is different in the antivirus/spyware area. It doesn't show a spyware box. A run of the anti virus program last night took just a few minutes instead of hours. I wonder if I have some wrong settings.

    I installed and purchased it.

    Here are my problems:

My Skype and VOIP Buster Calls are now garbled.

The vsmon.exe file uses all my CPU power half the time especially when I use my voip applications.

Are they going to fix this?

As licensed user you can contact, free of charrge, the ZA technical support directly at the link in my signature, check the time to address directly the live chat and get an help on the spot otherwise for off line messages you may need to wait for several days.

Adressing ZA support is the best way to troubleshoot the issue and if not resolved proceed for a refund.

Must be just a leftover in the GUI. If you click on it nothing happens anyway. The other links do work.
