I upgraded over the weekend and found it took minutes for Firefox to start, Daemon Tools stopped working and the PC pretty much slowed down to a crawl (3.0 quad core w/ 8 gig of ram on vista x64). On Monday I uninstalled and went back to v8 and everything is back to normal.

Thumbs up Re: Anyone installed ZA Pro 9.0.083.000?

    Hi.

I had ZASS 8.0.400.020 on my WinXP-SP3 and it seemed not to get automatic AV/AS updates anymore (manual update was OK). Today I:
    - unticked "Load ZASS at startup" in Preferences
    - rebooted and uninstalled with "/clean" option
    - searched for the following files and deleted what was found:
    "Zonelabs; "zone labs"; "Internet logs"; vsconfig.xml; vsdata.dll; vsdata95.vxd; vsdatant.sys; vsmon.*; vsmonapi.dll; vsnetutils.dll;vspubapi.dll; zaplus.*; zapro.*; zllictbl.dat; zlparser.dll; zonealarm.exe; zoneband.dll; vsutil.dll; zlclient.*"
    - run CCleaner v2.23.999 (cleaner+registry)
    - installed 9.0.083.000
    - did not reload saved settings from earlier version but entered what I liked through UI

Everything seems to be OK. Privacy options are gone, but I'm not missing them, at least for now.

Smile Re: Anyone installed ZA Pro 9.0.083.000?

Yesterday and the day before, I installed it on two WinXP machines, one Media Center Edition, one Home Edition, both OSs fully updated. I strictly followed the suggested procedure for thoroughly getting rid of the older ZA versions on both machines before installing the new version, and came through with no significant problems (I recall, somewhat vaguely, reading of people who didn't follow that procedure with earlier versions and got into trouble).

Problems other, that is, than not fully understanding the integration of AV and Aspyware in the new version; that was cleared up for me when I started a thread in the AV/AS forum.

One tiny note: the first time, using the current Outlook Express, that mail messages were forwarded from each machine, I needed to move the message window toolbar's right portion to the right to re-reveal the Forward button, which was at first concealed behind the new Junk buttons.

To JMJR regarding Skype, there is a problem and the fix is very easy. It is with zonealarm itself. Just go to Program control/main/program control (on the right)/click on custom. Unclick or turn off "Microsoft catalog utilization". that should do it!! close and reopen skype. Then it should work.

Sorry, But the Problem is NOT with ZONEALARM..

Here is a Quote from the Moderator:

"We now also use the Windows Catalog in the OS to determine safe applications.

    Its probably overriding your settings.

Open help in ZA and search for windows catalog to learn more about this options and its settings.
