I installed ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite release 9.0.083.000 as an upgrade to V8.0.400.020 - on 3 PCs.
After completing the installations and configuring the application, all 3 PCs exhibited the same problems – inconsistency using certain websites – such as Hotmail – had to reload and reload the page for it to display correctly. If I shutdown ZA all these problems would disappear.
On one of my PCs I uninstalled ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite V9.0.083.000, restarted my system, reinstalled ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite V8.0.400.020, and was able to work/surf just fine.
Encouraged (though disappointed by ZA), I uninstalled ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite V9.0.083.000 from my laptop, restarted, and reinstalled ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite V8.0.400.020.
After restarting my laptop (as required by ZA) I got the ZA icon in the taskbar but the application never actually started/opened for me to be able to configure it.
When hovering (my mouse) over the ZA icon I get a message saying “Protection is up, UI is initializing”
I tried rebooting several times with the same results, uninstalled the application and reinstalled it, installed V9.0.083.000 again, tried cleaning the registry of all old installation ”leftovers”, deleted the ZA file under windows/system32 – and then reinstalled V8.0.400.020 – with the exact same results – the application will not start – any suggestions?
