    Default HP GAMES as Malware

i've always liked using the ZA free version and now with a new compaq with pre-installed virus/firewall free I'm going to keep ZA free for a while. While using wild tangent games (an HP add on) we noticed that someone had changed the program control settings to allow games we had not intended to allow. we opened up the ZA program control and started hp games (aka wild tangent) and watched the screen as the hp games software changed our program permissions from red X's to green checkmarks. First, I consider that to be malware and completely below hp's previously unstained reputation in my eyes. 2nd, can za free stop this so my kids have access to some of the games but not all of them or do I just delete the whole games folder?

    Hi!
ZA does not allow for any specific configuration/blocking, you may need another type of program to control the kids (e.g. parental control software)

The ZA Free version has very Limited Configuration..

The Paid Version of ZoneAlarm Security Suite and ZoneAlarm Extreme Security, include "Parental Control" and "Game Mode Configuration"

    Understanding Game Mode

Game Mode minimizes interruptions while you play computer games by doing the following:
    • Lets you temporarily allow or deny all program permission requests, so that requests are answered without displaying alerts.
    • Postpones automatic scans and product updates.
    • Suppresses all Informational alerts and all alerts in which you are prompted to make a decision. This includes:
      • Alerts caused by Ask settings in the Programs List, such as permission alerts triggered by programs trying to send mail or act as servers.
      • OSFirewall alerts, which prompt you to allow or deny behavior considered unusual or suspicious.
      • ID Lock alerts and Outbound Mailsafe alerts.

Game Mode settings do not override Block or Allow settings in your Programs List. If you have configured ZoneAlarm security software to always block a specific program, it continues to block that program even if you activate Game Mode with a setting of Allow.
Game Mode remains active until you turn it off, or until you turn off ZoneAlarm security software or your computer.
