Default Windows Vista Service Pack 2 problem

I keep getting an error message when i try to install Windows Vista SP2. Having followed Microsoft's recommended fixes, I have now reached the stage where it is telling me to uninstall ZA Extreme Security and try again to install SP2. I am loathe to uninstall ZA and wonder if anybody else has come up against this problem?

    Here is the Problem..

1.) ZoneAlarm is a Firewall.. it Turned Off the Vista Firewall when it was installed.

2.) Vista SP2 is going to try to Update Windows Vista Firewall that was shut down by ZoneAlarm, because you can not have two Firewalls running at the same time..

3.) a possible work around if you are sure that you have a Good Download of Vista SP2 (and not Corrupted durring the Download)

is to Go into ZA Control Menu Overview/Preferences and Un-check "LOAD ZoneAlarm on Start" Reboot computer to Remove VSMON.EXE from Memory..

    4.) install Vista SP2..
5.) Reboot Computer and Make sure that Vista Firewall is turned OFF so it will not Conflict with ZoneAlarm..
6.) Go into ZA Control Menu, Overview/Preferences and Check "Load ZoneAlarm on Startup..
    7.) Reboot Computer..

You should now be Good to Go..

8.) you may need to Check Windows Update for several Updates that were Released after Vista SP2..

    Good Luck..

    George

I unchecked Load ZA on start & rebooted as you said, and then tried to install Vista SP2. The same error message occured as before, namely ERROR_NOT_FOUND (0X8007490).
