    Default WMI is trying to open a raw disk device

    I keep getting this message at startup. What does it mean?

    It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country, without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

    1.) what Version and Update of Windows do you have?

    2.) What Version and Update of ZoneAlarm do you have?

    With Only the Limited Information you have provided..

    Try this..

    Left Click on the ZA Tray Icon..
    Click on the Show ZA Control Center..
    Click on Program Control
    Click on Programs tab..

    Look way down the list near the Bottom for several entries of WMI

    Make sure that They have Trusted Level Access and at least two Green Check marks from the left..

    Sorry about the limited information. I wasn't actually looking for a full diagnosis or anything, I'm just curious about what "trying to open a raw disk device" means.

    1. Win XP Service Pack 3
    2. Zone Alarm Extreme Security 8.0.400.020
