    Default ZASS or ZA Extreme?

I need to renew my ZASS and ZoneLabs offer me a nice upgrade to the Extreme suit.

My son plays a lot of pc games where performance is everything? How do ZASS and Extreme compare to one another in terms of performance?

But that says nothing about performance?

I use both programs on several of my Computers I personally like both.

The main difference that I see is that Extreme offers ForceField Virtual Browsing protection.. and HD Encryption for Laptop computer..

1.) They preform about the Same for me..

2.) However, a few User have reported that the added Protection conflicts with some Games,

3.) if your Happy with the Performance of ZA Security Suite and no problems with it.. and don't have a Need for the Added features of Extreme Security.. I see no problem staying with ZA Security Suite.

4.) there is a Free 15 day trial period on all of ZA Paid products in case you want to try before you buy..

    Hi!
I agree with GURU George, the best would be to try Extreme and see if it is suitable for your type of activity. No doubts ZA Extreme provides better protection as compared to ZASS but you need to feel confortable with Forcefield and the way it works.

    Cheers,

Is it possible to turn of the extra security, Forcefield etc, and "downgrade" to ZASS?

    short answer NO!

1.) You can Turn Off the Forcefield feature, But it will not Revert to ZASS.

2.) the Registration License Keys ONLY work on the Style of Zone Alarm you Buy..

ZASS key works Only on ZASS
ZAES key will work Only on ZAES..

3.) If you try ZAES and want to Return to ZASS, You will have to Uninstall ZA Extreme before Installing ZASS again..

4.) The simplest procedure is to :

1.Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

(MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista)

    ZASS http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.html

    ZAES http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/information/zaxs/releaseHistory.html

    2. Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3. Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

For example,Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

Please Post back with your Progress Report..
