Default Skype Choppy Due to Firewall

I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled windows xp (my computer's OEM) and updated all of the drivers. i put zone alarm back on and skype. When I dial though, the sound is choppy that I hear. Every 4 seconds or so, it seems as if the sound is being "squeezed" for a second or two.

I tried shutting off zonealarm and skype worked perfectly. I've put all the trusted and internet zone to allow for skype.exe, but it still happens with any version of skype. I'm using 9.0.083.000 Zonealarm Internet Security Suite.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Hi fax thanks for the link.

I tried unchecking the Microsoft Catalogue Utilization button. It worked like a charm actually!

Any idea what unchecking that button does?

    Thanks,

    Luc

Unchecking will not trust automatically MS trusted processes...

This issue will be fixed in the next release of 9.0 so you can turn the option back on and get the benefits of it without giving you problems in Skype.

Next release is just around the corner.
