    Default ZA Security Suite Install

I have had problems the past month and had to reformat my computer several times. Each time I tried to re-install ZA Security Suite, I had to download a setup file, then wait 20 minutes or so while the setup application downloaded ZA. Whe last two times, the setup program window showed 100% download and then disappeared. I checked task manager and it showed zasuitesetup still running but was not pulling cpu time.

Is there a self-contained ZA Security Suite file I can download just once and not have to go through all this time-consuming effort just to re-install ZA Security Suite?

I am running XP Home and SP2 with SP2 update installed.

Default Re: ZA Security Suite Install

I just got done with trying to reinstall ZA Security Suite. After download window showed 100% download complete, the window disappeared and the modem indicated something else was downloading. I checked task manager and it showed ZAsuitesetup still active but just pulsing 1-2%cpu time....after a half hour, I got this message "This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package." and zasuitesetup stopped running and closed.

    Anybody??????????

    *** Very Impoartant Notice: ***

ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 9.0 for WinXP is Designed to Work Best on WinXP Service Pack 3 (SP3) and all later MicroSoft Updates..

NO Security Program can Protect you from the Bugs and Security Flaws found in WinXP SP2 that were Fixed by Microsoft in Service pack 3.. until you install Service Pack 3..

In order to Fully Protect your Computer, You should Update it with Latest Available Updates from MicroSoft..

    ====================

The simplest procedure is to update ZoneAlarm:

1.Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

(MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista)

    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.html

    2. Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3. Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

For example,Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

Please Post back with your Progress Report..
