Default Windows XP SP2 don't recognize the new build

I just updated my Zone labs security suite and now windows does not recognize that
    I have anti-virus protection, or a firewall.

Is there a way to fix this?

I have 9.0.114.000 which should be the very latest.

    Hi!
remove the ZASS installed, run this tool to reset the XP security center and reinstall ZASS.

Better would be to update to SP3 and fully patch your OS, before reintalling. ZA (and any other security tool) will not be able to protect you properly under SP2.

Hi, thanks for the tool. I will give it try, unfortunately I won't be installing SP-3.

I have 2 computers that have trouble starting after the SP-3 update, so I am not going to mess around trying to fix that mess. Hopefully I will be ok with the tool you provided.

    Thank you very much!

    You're welcome!
You should then upgrade to windows 7 or move to another OS. Not really good to keep like this...

I have tried using the program and am still getting the same issue. Today, after re-reading the instructions, I also removed spybot search and destroy as well and adaware along with zonelabs security suite.

I get an error when I run the security center reset program, about a folder that can't be deleted, but it looks like it finishes anyway.

Try to do it manually then:

Ok, I think I know why it is not working, I just don't know how to fix it.

I followed the link and discovered that I don't have the "repository" folder, so that probably explains the error, but the directory and data is supposed to be rebuilt, but it is not getting rebuilt for some reason. Have you ever seen that happen before?

EDIT: I tried the following command to rebuild it> rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository

It created a folder called repository.001 and created a subfolder called FS, however there is nothing in it, and my security alert still is not working.

Uuuhm... sorry I don't know how to fix a fully broken WSC.
Have you searched on google for similar cases?

You may need to resinstall the OS to fix it.

Thank you for all your suggestions fax. At this point I am going to notify ZoneLabs support.
The same thing is happening on all three of my computers, and it happened after the latest build.

Very strange, have three PCs and everything is working perfectly fine. Probably other tools installed on top of the system that removed direct access to WSC. I have seen this behavior by, for example, certain versions of Norton, that fully takes over the WSC.
