    Default Windows Security Center reports ZAX Firewall off

    Ever since I updated to ZA Extreme Suite 9.0.114.000 Windows Security Center is refusing to recognize that ZA Firewall is active.
    I can turn on Windows Firewall and it seems happy, but with just ZA on it generates alerts on every startup.

    Also, I need to approve ZA starting every Boot in the UAC. Again this started with the 9 update.

    Your windows security repository may be corrupted, try to reset it.

    A. Shutdowm ZA, wait 2 minutes, run ZA manually.
    or
    B. Remove ZA use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool:

    remove ZA with the ZA removal tool, then

    1. Run this tool (right click and run as administrator) to reset your corrupted VISTA repository;
    2. Turn on windows firewall;
    3. Check windows security center is working (detecting windows firewall)
    4. Now install ZA again. You need to install while logged on as administrator.

    Please post back with your progress report.

    Thanks! The Reset tool has made the Security Center happy.

    I am still required to confirm the UAC at each ZA launch, but that I can put up with until something better comes along.

    Thank you for your Feedback..

    "UAC" is not part of ZoneAlarm.. and can be a real pain for Vista Users..

    However, You can Turn "UAC" OFF in Vista..

    1.) Click Start/Settings/ Control Panel/ Security Center
    2.) the Very Last Option lets you Turn OFF "User Account Control"

    I just got the same issue on Windows 7 RC. Shutting down ZA and then restarting it (as you said GeorgeV) worked fine, and I'm not going to worry much about what Action Center says as long as ZA says its working, since you can turn off the errant messages in Action Center. I am curious, though, whether if this is a recurrent problem once Windows 7 final comes out whether that reset tool will work in Windows 7 as well as Vista.
    I turned off UAC in Win7 RC quite early on. Got fed up with having to start my music software as an administrator. Too bad you can't turn Action Center off. You can uncheck all the boxes, but the darn thing never goes away...

    Personally, I think it's a plot by MS to try and get us to use Security Essentials. I bet Action Center never reports that Security Essentials is off when it's not...;-)

    The "UAC" ON/OFF option maybe..

    as for the "Windows Security" Reset Tool I don't know,
    That Reset tool was created before Windows 7 BETA even existed.. ?

    I did the following as suggested. The problem reappeared a day later.
