Unhappy True Vector Security Service Shut down

I am running ZA Version 7 and I keep getting a message as described above. When I click on it, it instructs me to reboot due to "system error". By rebooting does not solve the problem.
    Please advise.

to the Zone Alarm User Forum..
It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

If you would Describe your Computer Setup/Windows OS patched Version and Version of Zone Alarm (Free/Paid type) that you are having a problem with it would help us understand and possibly diagnose your problem..

Thank you George for your quick reply. I am using Windows XP and a paid
version of ZA Security Suite 7.0483.000
    True Vector version: 7.0483.000

What is a True Vector Service anyway? Most of all, why is it "shut down"? My computer seems to be operating O.K. though slower than usual. Should I call technical help? Should I remove ZA and upload it again?

    Please advise

    Thanks for your reply..

1.) TrueVector is the Main Part of Protection provided by ZoneAlarm..,
TrueVector(Vsmon.exe) is the First program to startup when you turn on your Computer, and is the Very last program to shut down when your Computer is turned OFF.. in order to insure that your Computer is Always protected..

2.) When you have a Problem with True Vector.. it means that one of several things may have cause the problem..

A.) Too many other security Programs installed that may be Conflicting with ZAn or Blocking ZA..
You can ONLY have One Firewall and One Anti-Virus installed and Running.., When ZA is Installed, It turns OFF the Windows Firewall to prevent conflict..

B.) You could have Accidentally Infected your computer by Clicking on Free offeres on Web-sites, or Clicking on Attachments to Email, or Sometimes by Downloading Games or Music from Questionable Websites..

c.) Your Very Old Version of ZA Security Suite 7.0483.000, may be Corrupted.. Also, Version 7.0 is No Longer Supported by Checkpoint.. you need to Download the Current ZA Security Suite 9.0.114.000, Save it to your Hard drive, the Use the ZA Uninstall program to do a Clean uninstall of V7.0

    =======================

B.) It looks like your Have Corrupted your Old V7.0 Installed ZASS files The Best Fix for this problem is to Uninstall the Corrupte Version..

The simplest procedure is to :

1.Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

(MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista)

    ZASS http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.html

    2. Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3. Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

For example,Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

Please Post back with your Progress Report..
