I purchased two 3-user licenses of ZoneAlarm Extreme Security (ZES) 2008 for six computers under my support at three different locations (running Windows XP Pro or XP Home). On or about October 2, 2009, we upgraded to ZoneAlarm Extreme Security 2009 and are seen these problems on all six computers:
Scheduled antivirus/antispyware scans do not start.
It is as if the software can't tell time.
On access scanning is failing.
It appears, all the time, according to the logviewer, not just at boot
time. One of the computer found viruses when a scan was performed by
hand. If on access scanning is disabled, it shuts down
antivirus/antispyware scanning all together.
This was probably true in ZES 2008, but there is no indication that e-mails are being scanned in either direction. If the above isn't happening, how do we know e-mails are being scanned.
If I and others are seeing these problems on all these computers, this update was certainly not ready for public distribution. I noticed no problems with ZES 2008, other than the observation I made. These are major problems. ZoneAlarm Support should post a solution on this forum or provide us with time-frame when a solution will be available.
